Leander flood relief: people helping people
When the floods tore through Leander on July 5, 2025, sitting around watching our neighbors get hit like that was not an option. The 254 Floors family, together with friends and customers who all wanted to chip in, loaded up and went.
What we brought
- Around 20 chainsaws for clearing debris during search and rescue
- Hundreds of gallons of gas
- Shovels, saws, tools and work gloves
- Water and food for the people doing the work
What we saw
The destruction the flood left behind was hard to believe: roads and creek banks torn apart, trees and debris piled where homes and yards used to be. Local people were the ones there in the first days. In our experience it took nearly a week for national services to show up, and until then it was neighbors, volunteers and local crews doing the work.
That is what this was: people helping people. Leander is our neighbor, a short drive from our Liberty Hill store, and the families we serve there are the reason we do what we do.
