Rental flooring questions
What is the best flooring for rental properties?
Waterproof rigid core vinyl plank. It survives pets, spills and move-outs, cleans with a damp mop, and a damaged plank can be swapped without redoing the room. Most single-family rentals use 12 or 20 mil wear layer plank; high-turnover apartments and student housing get the most life from 20, 22 or 28 mil.
How much does it cost to re-floor a rental unit?
At our posted prices, a 900 sq ft unit in our Made in USA 20 mil plank is about $3,545 installed, including a 10% waste allowance. Property managers get contractor pricing, which is lower, and multi-unit orders are priced per pallet or truckload.
Can you match the same floor later for repairs?
Yes. Our featured lines are running lines, not closeouts, so you can buy the same plank next year to repair a unit or match the next turn.
How fast can you turn a unit?
We measure and install in the same week. In most cases we can install within 24 to 48 hours. A 1,000 sq ft job is usually finished in 1 day; 1,500 sq ft and up normally takes 2 days.
Do you work with student housing near Baylor?
