What is hardened engineered wood?
It is a real wood surface (0.6 mm on the planks, 0.4 mm on the wood tiles) bonded to a stable core, with Bjelin's Woodura treatment on most of the range to harden the wood surface. You get the look and feel of real wood in a thinner, more stable plank than solid hardwood.
